5 Steps of Book Layout

After helping dozens of authors navigate self-publishing, I've refined my process to keep up the momentum and ensure your feedback stays front and center. Once you're on board, I'll create a production schedule to keep us on track. Here's what you can expect:

1. Mockups

I create three unique mockups using sample pages.

You pick a design or mix and match elements to build a layout you love.

Design

2. First Pass

I lay out the entire book.

You review the first pass and request design adjustments, textual changes, and other corrections.

3. Second Pass

I deliver a revised file with advanced typesetting.

You review the second pass to check my work and catch mistakes missed in the first pass.

4. Third Pass

I deliver a revised file.

You review the third pass to check my work and catch any last-minute typos.

Revision

5. Final Pass

I input final corrections and deliver the final layout.

You check my work and approve the final interior.

eBook (if requested)

I convert your print layout into an EPUB ready for immediate publication.

Delivery

Bonus step

Celebrate! Because you have a beautiful, professional layout you love, and your book is ready for publication!

Congrats!

Pricing

Every book is different, and I price projects according to length, complexity, and time requirements. I use a flat-rate system to keep it simple and transparent, with layouts starting at $650.
